This is a quick and easy way to make an omelette in the oven using minimal ingredients. You can add vegetables and/or meat of your choice, which makes this recipe very versatile.

By:

Ingredients
  • Butter or oil to coat
  • 18 eggs
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • dash of salt
  • 1-2 cups of vegetables and/or meat of your choice
Directions
  • Step 1 Heat the oven to 325 degrees.
  • Step 2 Coat a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan with butter or another oil of choice
  • Step 3 Crack the eggs in a large bowl, and then add the sour cream, milk, dash of salt and mix well.
  • Step 4 Add vegetables and/or meat of your choice to the mixture, then pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
  • Step 5 Bake for 50 minutes at 325 degrees in the oven or until set. I began checking at 35 minutes.
  • Step 6 When the eggs are set, cut them into serving pieces.

Method:

Heat the oven to 325 degrees.  Then, coat the bottom and sides of a 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish with butter or oil (I used butter).

Then, crack all of the eggs in a large bowl.

Next, measure and add in the sour cream to the bowl of cracked eggs.

Measure the milk and pour it into the same bowl.  You can also sprinkle in a pinch of salt.

Mix the eggs, sour cream, and milk using a fork or hand mixer.  I used a fork, but the ingredients would be combined even more using a hand mixer.

After these ingredients are combined, this is the step where you can add any vegetables or meat.  I sliced a ham steak and added this to the mixture and stirred it.

Next, pour all of the ingredients into the buttered or oiled baking dish.

Place the dish in the oven and bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.  I started checking mine at around 35 minutes to ensure that they weren’t overcooked.

*Optional: You can top the omelet with shredded cheese the last 5-10 minutes for it to melt.

When the omelette is finished, let it sit for a few minutes to settle before cutting it into serving pieces.  Enjoy!
